"RAW CULT is a graphic driven apparel company, drawing influence from punk ideologies, hip hop culture and an offbeat lifestyle."
The new graphic apparel brand is throwing their official launch party in Montreal on Saturday, June. 22, featuring a performance by underground hip hop heavyweights, ILL Bill, Goretex aka Lord Goat and DJ Eclipse of Non Phixion.
Glenwood Projects raised MCs, ILL Bill and Goretex and Rhode Island born turntablist, DJ Eclipse, have been working together since the early 90's. Their roots sink deep in hip hop culture, but their influences extend far beyond rap music, which can be heard in their lyrics and composition. It's evident on the track, The CIA IS Still Trying To Kill Me, off their debut album and underground classic, The Future is Now. This joint features Stephen Carpenter of Deftones, as well as Christian Olde Wolbers and Raymond Herrera of Fear Factory.
RAW CULTs first drop will be available exclusively at Saturdays event, which is taking place at Foufounes Électriques. No opening acts are billed, so make sure to get there early. Doors are at 6:00PM and the show kicks off at 8:00PM. Hosting is hip hop veteran and Montreal native, The Orion Revolution from Shades of Culture.
For those who won't be attending, merch will be available at www.rawcult.ca in July. Take a look below to see what's dropping!
